Classic Bruschetta Recipe
- Ingredients
- 1 baguette or rustic Italian bread, sliced
- 3 large Roma tomatoes, diced
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil (plus more for brushing)
- 1–2 cloves garlic, minced
- 6–8 fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 1 tsp balsamic vinegar (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Instructions
- Prepare the Tomatoes:
- Dice the Roma tomatoes and place them in a bowl.
- Add minced garlic, olive oil, basil, balsamic vinegar (if using), salt, and black pepper.
- Toss everything together and let it sit for 10–15 minutes to develop flavor.
- Toast the Bread:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) or use a grill pan.
- Brush the bread slices lightly with olive oil and toast until golden brown and crisp (about 5 minutes per side).
- Assemble the Bruschetta:
- Spoon the tomato mixture generously over each toasted bread slice.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
