About the host

Hi everyone, my name is Pooja. I have been teaching cooking for over 15 years, have partnered with cooking schools in the Bay Area and Boston, and hosted classes for charities like Cystic Fibrosis Research, Inc and the National Charity League I'm originally from India but lived most of my life in Dubai; my classes are a blend of Indian and Middle Eastern flavors. I want people to know that Indian food can be very easy and simple to cook. I like to share tips on how to make the dish in a simpler, healthier and faster. I also share tips on how to make the same dishes with meat or vegan substitutes. Food is life! I grew up in a food business background. My family has been in the food business for over a hundred years. I run an online gourmet food business from a commercial kitchen in San Francisco and dream to one day have my own production facility and a cooking school studio. Join me in one of my cooking experiences and let's have some fun!!!!

About the host

'I Love Babycakes' is a passion driven bakery that I founded in Mumbai in August 2009. The brand found its way to Hong Kong when I moved here with my family and launched it here in January 2019. Proud to say, the brand now runs in both the cities through 365 days a year. We specialise in cupcakes, custom cakes, cookies, cake pops. We have held numerous in person baking workshops for children starting from 3 years old upto 18 and adults as well in the form of baking parties, corporate team building events and competitions. The homestyle flavour and feel of our products and detailed customisation is what has made us unique and much loved in this city in a short span of time. What our classes promise is a hands-on baking experience and some serious fun. They range from unicorn cupcakes, cookies, cake pops, mini cakes to custom requests. Our classes are often centred around events and celebrations like Halloween, Easter, Chinese New Year, Valentines Day etc. I look forward to creating some really fun products with you and having a great time doing it together - either online or at our fabulous BiteUnite commercial kitchen space in charming Wan Chai. About the host

I am a San Franciscan and a FOOD LOVER! I've been cooking professionally since I was 16 years old. And despite a 22 year career at the world famous Beach Blanket Babylon, I've kept a foot in the culinary world as a caterer, food and beverage consultant and accomplished home cook. I've taken the skills, methods and traditions of professional cooking and kitchens and, over the years adapted them for the home cook. I've been building a collection of reccipes for the last thirty years and it continues to grow as time passes. I would like to share with you my skills, my food and recipes to help you create delicious and beautiful food. My classes are fun, informative and hands on. Not only will you learn new cooking methods and skills, but you'll learn about the origins of the food we're cooking, the history of the dishes we are preparing and how to best present the food we've prepared. We will also have fun!! We will have a group meal at the end of class and there will plenty of your creations left over to take home.
